BenchReady — Pixel 7 before-service and return checklist Pixel 7 · stock Android Repair Mode does not guarantee that a repair will preserve your data. Review backup coverage before service. Check photos and videos separately from the device backup; record missing or uncertain coverage. Check Repair Mode eligibility on the phone: Android 14 with the December 2023 update or later, and at least 2 GB free. If the option is unavailable, keep that as an open issue for the provider. Ask whether the planned repair may require a reset. Record the answer without treating Repair Mode as a promise that storage will remain intact. Keep your physical SIM card. Follow the Repair Mode task for entry, then record whether you actually reached it. Do not put your PIN, password or pattern in a service record. Make the handoff and return comparable Before handoff — Original symptom, checks already made, backup coverage still unknown and questions for the provider. At handoff — Repair Mode entered / unavailable / not attempted; provider response about reset; agreed next step. After return — Whether you exited Repair Mode, whether the original symptom remains and which ordinary functions you actually checked. Data after return — Backup or restore checks performed, missing items and unresolved questions. Leave unverified data marked unknown. Keep a record you can revisit Save observations in the backup and Repair Mode tasks, then open the return pack. Export its combined TXT or JSON before handoff. After service, restore your JSON locally if needed and update the return checklist. Changes made inside Repair Mode are discarded when you leave it.
