Wireless charging: Pixel 7 pad and case check

Compare the Pixel 7 wireless path using its supported charger class and a steady unobstructed position.

Version 2.0.0 · About 20 minutes to organize observations

Planning estimate for recording observations; excludes charging, backups, drying and service. Not a measured repair time.

Preparation guide

  1. Confirm the charger for Pixel 7 using the Pixel 9a-and-earlier section of Google’s charging page: a compatible Qi 1.x charger or Pixel Stand. Do not apply later-model Qi2 instructions by appearance.

  2. Use the charger’s appropriate adapter and a working outlet. Put it on a stable surface away from interfering metal or magnets.

  3. If charging is slow or unsteady, safely remove thick or metallic cases and ring holders. Position the phone as the charger maker directs.

  4. Observe with the phone resting still and unused. Record the charging indication; keep a warm-device pause separate from a cool-pad failure.

  5. Compare a dry direct USB-C connection separately if available. A wired success narrows the power-path evidence without proving which wireless component failed.

Check the result

  • Save the supported pad, case and position conditions that produced charging. Recurrent interruptions belong in the same record.
  • Give Google and the charger maker the wireless/wired distinction, pad compatibility and case comparison.
Stop conditions
  • Stop using and charging equipment with swelling, casing separation, smoke, a burning smell or suspected battery damage. Do not open or press on it.
  • Set damaged accessories aside. Do not open mains adapters or force connectors.
  • Do not erase, reset, flash firmware or bypass a lock as a default diagnostic step.
