Preparation guide

  1. Check plug, cable and port visually. Remove a case blocking seating; do not insert a cleaning tool or force the USB-C plug.

  2. Check the outlet with another safe device. If available, try the cable and adapter on another compatible device before attributing failure to the Pixel.

  3. Connect directly with the verified setup and wait one minute for a battery indication. A deeply depleted phone may need at least another 10 minutes before the display turns on.

  4. Compare an intact compatible cable while keeping adapter and outlet fixed. Then compare a compatible adapter if available. Record which single change was made.

  5. If Check charging accessory appears, record that category and verify cable/adapter compatibility. For a persistently blank screen, use the separate black-screen task instead of guessing a battery fault.

Check the result

  • Keep the accessory combination that produced a response. A charging indication and successful startup should be recorded separately.
  • Give Google the confirmed outlet/accessory comparison and whether any display or ring response was observed.
Stop conditions
  • Stop using and charging equipment with swelling, casing separation, smoke, a burning smell or suspected battery damage. Do not open or press on it.
  • Set damaged accessories aside. Do not open mains adapters or force connectors.
  • Do not erase, reset, flash firmware or bypass a lock as a default diagnostic step.
